Working daily with Juliet Fallowfield, this position would have responsibility for, and ownership of, the retained PR side of the business, as well as supporting Juliet on brand communications and consultancy opportunities within the brand project work FF&M also look after.  As FF&M acts as a hybrid in-house/consulting firm, the role will be integrated into the clients’ businesses on a day to day basis yet with flexible location and hours.  

With a proven press network and track record of results, the candidate will have 6 to 8+ years of PR experience and work collaboratively with two direct reports as well as the founder and wider FF&M team.  There will be autonomy and responsibility in the role as it is full time hire for FF&M and will be integral to the success of the clients.  

Juliet will offer every opportunity for skill set growth for the candidate and will expect the candidate to book out a minimum time commitment of paid training and development each month.

ABOUT FF&M:

With a focus on working with new brands, startups and entrepreneurs, FF&M endeavours to be an inhouse/consultancy hybrid communications solution.  FF&M only work with smart and ethically minded brand founders to keep in line with FF&M’s own company values.  This role is an opportunity to really help shape and drive forward interesting and innovative companies who are passionate about what they do and how they do it, through strategic brand communications and PR. 

As each brand needs different support, FF&M tailor their scope per client, whether that be setting up an in-house press office on a module basis, providing consulting when a client needs a refreshed communications strategy or being retained to represent the brand with the press. 

ROLE OUTLINE

Business development: 

  • Seek out and evaluate new client leads, both retained and project work, that fit FF&M’s values 

  • Support Juliet in managing client leads re: briefing, research, feedback and ideas on how FF&M could work with them

  • Develop client proposals collaboratively

Brand communications:

  • Consult with module based clients on setting up their internal press offices 

  • Create and implement a brand’s narrative, vision, mission and initial strategy

  • Work with the wider FF&M on a new client’s multi platform communications audit 

  • Create a suite of press tools to support a new brand’s PR outreach

  • Support Juliet in coaching clients on how to own their own PR  

PR & media relations

  • Proactively meet and pitch to UK/global lifestyle and luxury media on behalf of retained clients securing consistent qualitative editorial coverage

  • Develop relationships with target press with a focus on luxury travel, beauty, fashion, fine jewellery and accessories

  • Manage the daily running of the FF&M press office with two direct reports

  • Create annual brand and PR strategies for clients including VIP, partnerships, influencer and seeding, look for suitable cross-marketing opportunities 

  • Seek speaking opportunities for brand founders events, round tables, podcasts etc

  • Proactively manage the forward features calendar ensuring all opportunities are maximised for clients 

  • Brief and manage the in-house copywriter and proofreader to ensure messaging is engaging and correct 

  • Create and coordinate press events for clients 

  • Curate and manage suitable itineraries for press trips

  • Proactively manage media lists, identify key publications and changing media trends for brand positioning and development

LOCATION:

Ideally London based as the candidate will have Soho House and Soho Works membership included in their package.  However, this is very flexible, so the successful candidate would have the opportunity to outline what they prefer in terms of in person and remote working options. Plus there is the option to book in advance extended periods of working remotely (overseas) should it still work for delivering work for clients i.e/time differences.. anything is possible.

HOURS: Flexible working hours, ideally meeting 40 hour weeks on average.  However open to 3 or 4 day weeks prorated for the right candidate. Flexibility is a core value at FF&M so it needs to work for everyone. 

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The role offers a comprehensive package including bonus potential, commission and benefits.  

EXPERIENCE: 6-8 years of strong PR experience with a proven track record of achieving editorial success. Case studies on application would be welcomed. 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor Degree or equivalent
